Counselor’s Corner Issue 1

Hello, new friends! I am so excited to officially be apart the ILC educator team and am looking forward to getting to know you each. Already in the couple of weeks that I've been on board, I am so impressed with what you are doing in your schools, classrooms, and the lives of your students in this unprecedented time. Your dedication to education, passion for kids, and love for the Lord is evident and manifested daily in the lives of your students.

Because of this ever-changing, day-by-day school climate, the Education Department believes it's especially important to focus on (1) Student Support and (2) Teacher Care for the 2020-2021 school year. Thus, our Social-Emotional initiative, provided through a Versa-Care grant via La Sierra's Center for Conflict Resolution, provides my School Counseling services to all ten ILC schools!

The Needs Assessment will give you an idea of the some of the services I can provide to you and your students. By next week, I will send you additional information to help as you explain my role to students and families. In the meantime, feel free to reference thisrole descriptor for understanding of how I can support you and your kiddos.

I can't wait to get to know you each better and work alongside and with you!
