Counselor’s Corner - March 6, 2023
Dear Teacher,
It was simple luck that Juliette Lamour's eighteenth birthday landed on the same day that the Powerball jackpot hit $754.6 million dollars. Luckily, she listened to her grandfather's advice to purchase a lotto ticket for the ninth largest jackpot in U.S. history. With a stroke of luck, Juliette was reminded to check her ticket after hearing that someone from her hometown had won the January 7, 2023 draw. Realizing that she had lucked out after seeing 'Big Winner' flash on her mobile app, Juliette screamed "I can't believe it! I hit the Gold Ball jackpot on my very first lottery ticket!" What luck of the draw!
And you, teacher, there in your classroom, have students who hit the jackpot, too. Except, this time it wasn't luck. No, rather it was His intention that placed the hurting student in your classroom to be ministered to by your empathic heart. It was His provision that landed the abused student into your protective care and watchful eye. It was His providence that allowed the struggling student to receive your accommodating instructional style and inclusive setting. It wasn't happenstance that the students in your classroom were placed there for a reason. Instead, it was by God's doing that you are their teacher. Luckythem!
Celebrating you, Saint-o-the-Classroom,
