Legends for Behavioral Change
Dear Teacher,
"Lambie the Legend" began her career as a surrogate mother in 2014 when she bonded with a baby rhino named Gertie. "Little G," as he's affectionately known, had lost his parents at three months old, was rescued and brought to the Endangered Species Center, arriving confused and weak, unable to fend for himself.
However, when he met Lambie, his behavior changed! Their relationship developed organically with them readily bonding. In turn the closer they became, the more he was ready to take on the world. Eventually, Little G became strong enough to be released into the wild, thanks in part to Lambie who had nurtured him like her very own.
And, you, Teacher, there in your classroom, are a legend in your own right. Every year, you act as surrogate parents to little ones who need you. You rescue them by providing strong boundaries, high expectations, and warm acceptance. Often they arrive to you emotionally confused and mentally weak. However, you allow the relationship to develop organically, establishing strong rapport and bonding so that your influence changes their behavior! Not only are you readying them for success in the real world, but you're preparing them for Eternity!
